As Winter Haven’s mayoral election nears, the candidates’ campaigns move into high gear. The pompous incumbent, Bob Casperson, squares off against the popular challenger, Grace McPherson, in a heated debate just one week before the election.  Even Detective Brad Sanders’ wife Linda gets into the fray when she agrees to be Grace’s campaign manager.

But politics must take a back seat when Brad makes a grisly discovery on his daily run up on the rugged Campaign Trail high above the small mountain town.  There is much more than meets the eye as twists and turns reveal more evidence for the Winter Haven Police Department to investigate.  When another town resident suddenly dies under mysterious circumstances, Brad and the Winter Haven Police Department must determine if it is just a coincidence or the start of a gruesome crime wave. Brad, his partner John, and his wife Linda work tirelessly to decipher the clues before even more victims meet an untimely fate.
